Firstly, let us take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year – did you have a good holiday season? We were delighted to see so many of you over the Christmas and New Year period and thank you for helping us to celebrate.
Here we are at the start of a brand new year and so many of us choose to make resolutions for the year that will improve ourselves or our lives in some way. However, do we really need to wait for the arrival of a new year to make these changes and should we be changing at all? On average, resolutions last for 11-14 days before falling by the wayside. This year, rather than setting unrealistic resolutions to dramatically change the person you have been your whole life, why not set goals for the WHOLE year. That way, if you fall off the wagon, there is plenty of time to hop back on.
So, what top tips do we have for going into the New Year with goals for a New Year?
Can I do This?
Realistic – be realistic and honest with yourself. Starting out the year saying you want to lose 20 stone in weight is an unrealistic goal. Think about what is actually achievable in your day to day life and aim for that, whether it’s 1lb a week or 7lbs a month!
Grit and Determination
Fight – Goals are goals for a reason, they are not instantly or often easy to achieve. This means, you won’t achieve your goals by sitting on the side lines and waiting for someone to bring you the prize. Get up and get out there, fight and work hard to achieve your goals. That way, whether you achieve them or whenever you do, you’ll know you did everything you could to get to your end result.
I Deserve This
Reward – Whether it’s a little win or a big win, make sure you celebrate. Don’t reward yourself with something that will be detrimental to your goal ie if you’re dieting, don’t go and eat a whole chocolate cake, instead go and get your nails done or buy yourself a new top. No matter what you do, make sure you reward yourself because we all need a little encouragement every now and again.
Whatever your goals for the year ahead, we wish you all the luck in achieving them and look forward to hearing all about your adventures when you pop in for a little Thai. We’ll be waiting and ready to listen.
